Roger Castle, Sr.

Head Coach

Roger Castle, Sr. is both Head Soccer Coach and Varsity Soccer Coach at MVHS. His credentials include over 25 years of coaching experience in the United States. In the past 5 years, he has built MVHS boys soccer into a top-ranked program. This will be his eighth season coaching Diablos Soccer.

Roger's accomplishments and credentials include: Director of Development, Mission Viejo Soccer Club, State and Regional Championships; President, San Clemente United Soccer Club; President, SC Athletic Soccer Club, boys coach for Irvine Strikers, State Champions; State ODP Staff, BU16; CIF SS member, advisory committee, boys D1; USSF National Boys U16-U19 player scout; National D license, Coerver licensed.

Born in southern England, Roger played youth soccer under Jim Ryan. He was fortunate to learn from some of the best coaches of that era in England. He has an excellent disciplinary record as a coach, and demands the same standards from his players.

Roger Castle, Jr.

Roger Castle, Jr. is a National USSF "B" licensed coach. He coaches older boys at the club level, and boys socccer at MVHS. He began his soccer career as a youth player at Mission Viejo Soccer Club. He played high school soccer at RSM High School, and upon graduating, was accepted into the PACE program at the Dover Football Club, England. While in England he earned his Levels 1 & 2 coaching badges, with endorsements in sports injuries.

Roger has worked both in physical training and coaching. He is an active coach with SC Athletic Soccer Club, and Director of Development for Saddleback Valley Soccer Association. Based upon his own experiences in youth soccer, he has a good understanding of the many challenges facing today's youth players.

James Turner

James Turner is the former Captain of the UCI Soccer Team where he played from 2008-2011, and is currently playing professional soccer for the Los Angeles Blues. He was Team Captain at MVHS from 2006-2008. At MVHS, James was honored for both his athletics and academics. He received the Diablo of the Year Award 2007, Athletic Scholar MVHS 2005-2006, Spirit of the Diablos Award for academics from 2004-2006, and MVP of the South Coast Soccer League in 2007.

At the club level, he was team captain during his time at both OC Kings Soccer Club and Mission Viejo Soccer Club, and won the National Cup with Barcelona FC.

Jimmy Turner

 

Alexis Ubillus

Alexis Ubillus is a national "B" licensed coach. He currently coaches older boys teams at the club level, and is known as an accomplished skills coach.

Alexis is native of Lima, Peru where he began playing soccer as a youth. His professional soccer career spans 15 years. He played midfield for a number of football clubs in Peru including Universitario, FBC Melgar and Alianza Lima. His international career includes 11 apperances for the senior Peru National Team from 1994 - 2001. In 1995 he played Copa America with the Peruvian National Squad.

In 2007, Alexis joined Atlanta FC, a National Premier Soccer League club in the United States, which made it to the National Cup Finals.
